The role of the P&C Generalist incorporates a wide range of employment related functions. Primary responsibilities include applicant screening, interviewing & hiring, recruiting, a wide variety of administrative functions, coordinating employee arrival, on-boarding & orientation and processing of all employment related data. 


  • Processes and reviews employment applications to evaluate candidate qualifications and eligibility.
  • Interviews, selects and places qualified applicants. Uses available tools and sound judgment when selecting and/or placing applicants
  • Conducts employment verification, reference checks and background checks of new hire candidates
  • Works closely with Department Directors and Managers and accepts input to aide in hiring decisions when necessary
  • Advertises and posts job vacancies and tracks results
  • Develops professional working relationships with, coworkers, vendors and local community organizations
  • Represents GPI and the HR office responsibly and professionally at all times; including at job fairs, recruiting events, career centers, etc.
  • Occasional travel for recruiting events, conferences, seminars, etc. both domestically and internationally may be required
  • Facilitates new hire transportation and arrival information 
  • Assists with employee arrivals and shuttles if necessary
  • Coordinates pre-employment paperwork in preparation of onboarding
  • Assists with employee on-boarding and orientation
  • Will administer Pay-Pal account to process employment/housing deposits
  • Will administer Shoes 4 Crews and other employee related accounts
  • Works closely with Payroll department to ensure efficient and accurate flow of all necessary information
  • Processes basic new hire information and all changes to employment records and status'
  • Efficiently files and inputs data to personnel files and HRIS systems
  • Will assist with processing unemployment claims
  • May assist with benefits administration and workers comp when required
  • Provides input toward employee communications, rewards & recognition initiatives
  • Position does require travel in and around Glacier National Park, surrounding areas and Waterton, Alberta Canada
  • Provides explanation of company policies & procedures to all employees as needed
  • Coaches & Councils employees and managers at property level during operating season
  • Visits post office & GPI mail room regularly to ensure proper flow of company & employee mail 
  • Assists with other job duties and responsibilities as required


  • Minimum two - three years Human Resource Generalist experience
  • Progressive HR related responsibilities, knowledge & skills
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent Human Resources experience is required 
  • Functional knowledge of employment laws, policies & regulations 
  • In depth knowledge of primary HR functions and principles.
  • Staffing experience; recruitment, selection, hiring and placement 
  • Excellent organization and time management skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Must be willing & able to adapt to a fast paced, high volume, changing environment 
  • Must be able to handle employee and guest concerns in a professional and tactful manner
  • Must be familiar with HRIS and typical administrative systems, programs and activities. ICims, Power Source experience helpful.
  • Ability to legally enter Canada and travel internationally
  • A valid US Passport and drivers license
