The Sweet Treats Manager is responsible for efficient day to day operations of our newest outlet, the Glacier Sweet Treats Shop. Models the way to manage staff. Ensures daily set up and service of the walk up candy, ice cream & coffee/espresso counters and retail merchadise displays. Provides exceptional service and general information to guests.

Manages a small team of baristas and retail employees. 

Must assist in other departments or with other job duties as requested or necessary. 


  1. Arrives to work on time and in uniform.
  2. Managers (plans, directs, evaluates, schedules) all work performed by staff.
  3. Responsible for set up, maintenance, and operation of the walk up snack and coffee/espresso counter.
  4. Works the counter to sell merchandise, candy, scoop ice cream, and serve coffee/espresso drinks.
  5. Operates the POS register system, collects currency and gives receipt with every transaction.
  6. Ensures standards of appearance and sanitation are maintained on a daily basis.
  7. Displays merchandise in a appealing fashion.
  8. Sells merchandise from store and makes yes-yes choices available to the guest.
  9. Keeps all areas clean, sanitary and fully stocked. Replenishes service lines as needed.
  10. May have to stock refrigeration and/or freezer with food and beverage items.
  11. Checks supplies and prep lists and ensures all items are prepped in a timely and sanitary fashion.
  12. Maintains proper service and cleanliness of food counter; including daily sweeping and mopping.
  13. Participates in ongoing training and the GPI sanitation program.
  14. Takes part in all sales goals and greets and informs guests of promotions.
  15. Keeps constant vigilance of all customers and employees to ensure that store security policies are enforced.
  16. May periodically train new employees or staff from other departments.
  17. Assists in other departments, or with other duties as required.


  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Previous café or barista supervisory experience required.
  • Hospitality POS (Aloha, Retail Pro) systems experience desirable. 
  • Must have good guest service skills.
  • Must have knowledge of cash handling, making change, and general accounting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. 
  • Must be able to multi-task.
  • Must be able to effectively lead and motivate a staff.
  • Must be pleasant, helpful, friendly, outgoing, enthusiastic and courteous in dealing with guests and co-workers.
  • Must be team-oriented, positive and upbeat.
  • Able to handle guest concerns in a tactful and caring manner.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts.
  • Must possess neat and pleasant grooming habits.
  • A valid driver's license may be required.
  • May be required to obtain cerification in CPR/First Aid and Smiths System driving instruction.

  • High volume candy & information outlet in a National Park setting.
  • Job requires constant walking, bending, the frequent use of stairs, handling, reaching, grasping, lifting 25+ lbs., and repetitive motions.
  • Position requires flexible scheduling, including weekends, holidays, split shifts, etc.
