Overview

The EDR Attendant assists in preparing foods and beverages for employees, including food prep, production, cleaning work areas, equipment, and utensils; assisting in food preparation, set up, and service; and collection of garbage and trash.  Serves a range of hot and cold food items.  Works to ensure a positive dining experience for all GPC employees. Assists with other duties as requested.

Responsibilities

  1. Arrives to work on time and in proper uniform.
  2. Receives instructions from manager at start of shift.
  3. Assists Manager and Cooks in daily preparations of menu items.
  4. Preps food items according to prep list.
  5. Replenishes foods, condiments, silverware, glassware, dishes, and trays at serving stations.
  6. Follows prescribed procedures in setting up hot and cold food lines.
  7. Arranges proper utensils, and sets steam line to appropriate temperature for menu items.
  8. Conveys food and supplies from main kitchen to serving site in a variety of methods, including; by carrying, by utilizing a cart, by elevator, etc.
  9. Replenishes foods, condiments, silverware, glassware, dishes, and trays at serving stations as needed.
  10. Keeps EDR clean and stocked between all meal periods.                         
  11. Cleans and maintains work areas, facilities, utensils, and equipment including floors; collects and places garbage and trash in designated containers.
  12. May instruct and provide training to other employees assisting in department.
  13. Completes GPC Sanitation program.
  14. Adheres to all hotel policies and regulations.
  15. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  16. Assists with other duties as requested.

Qualifications

  • Culinary training helpful.
  • Previous commercial kitchen or cooking experience preferred.
  • Must learn and comprehend proper sanitation policies and safety procedures.
  • Must be able to perform all manual aspects of kitchen operation inclusive of dish machine operations.
  • Must have the ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
  • Must be able to read and write clearly.
  • Must be able to speak clearly and respectfully.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required.
  • Must have a positive attitude and “can do “work ethic.
  • Must be team oriented, positive and upbeat.  

Work Environment

  • High volume Kitchen/EDR in a Hotel environment.
  • National Park setting.
  • Climate control equipment may or may not be present.
  • Position requires working in varying temperatures, including occasional work within coolers and freezers.
  • Job requires standing for long periods of time, walking, bending, handling, reaching, grasping, lifting 50 lbs., and repetitive motions.
  • Kitchen environment may have times of high noise levels.
  • Non-smoking environment.
