Orders, receives, stores and distributes perishable and non-perishable products for the assigned location. Maintains a neat and organized storage area. Must work efficiently and adhere to all sanitation regulations and requirements. Assists in prep, production, cooking, EDR and with other responsibilities as required. 


  1. Reports to work on time in required uniform.
  2. Orders and receives perishable and non-perishable products from food distributors/vendors and warehouse.
  3. Keeps order of storeroom, walk-ins and freezers organized according to inventory sheets.
  4. Rotates stock with oldest date issued first; first in, first out.
  5. Fills out completed requisitions in a timely manner.
  6. Keeps storeroom areas clean and safely organized.
  7. Assists in all inventories.
  8. Maintains effective lines of communication between all departments; kitchen, dining room, bar, warehouse, location management and support staff.
  9. Completes GPI sanitation & training programs and complies with all health and safety codes in handling and storage of all kitchen items.
  10. Enforces and follows all company policies and regulations.
  11. Works with the Chef and EDR manager to ensure required products are ordered accurately and efficiently.
  12. Completes all transfer forms and ensures all invoices are submitted in a timely fashion.
  13. Assists with a variety of tasks such as prepping, production, set up, food service, break down and clean up as required.
  14. Cleans and maintains kitchen equipment, utensils, dishes, pots, pans, glassware, tables, refrigerators, deep fat fryers, ovens, ranges and all other work areas in accordance with sanitation regulations.
  15. Assists with other responsibilities or in other departments as required



  • Efficient knowledge and understanding of food costs, accounting, inventory/supply ordering, receiving and storage; issuing refrigerator temperatures, portion control and product awareness.
  • Previous kitchen, restaurant experience required.
  • Must have knowledge and understanding of all current accepted sanitation requirements.
  • Must be able to multi-task and work effectively under pressure at times.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally in all levels of interaction.
  • Must be team-oriented, positive and upbeat.
  • Must be pleasant, helpful, friendly, outgoing, enthusiastic and courteous in dealing with management, co-workers and vendors.
  • Must be able to speak and write clearly and precisely.
  • Good organization skills required.
  • Must know how to do relative math functions to effectively perform this position.
  • Must posses current Food Safety certification.


Work Environment

  • Kitchen/Cafeteria in a hotel environment.
  • National Park setting.
  • Climate control equipment may or may not be present.
  • Position required working in coolers and freezers on a regular basis.
  • Varying degrees of temperature will be encountered.
  • Kitchen environment may have times of high noise levels.
  • Job requires standing for long periods of time, walking, bending, handling, reaching, grasping, lifting 50 lbs., and repetitive motions.
  • Position includes meeting and assisting with loading & unloading of product from trucks, using hand carts, pallet jacks, etc.
  • Non-smoking environment.
  • Flexible scheduling may be required; including varied hours, split shifts, weekends and holidays.
